0 How 2 Survive Thanksgiving

THANKSGIVING We would all love to have Mona Lisa's composure on TG(Thanksgiving)...

THANKSGIVING Instead of falling to bits in a panic.

Dr Steve says knitting is the key...

THANKSGIVING To finding your inner serenity - something the French have known forever.

THANKSGIVING Not only is knitting responsible for the famous French aura of inner mystery, but it keeps hands busy (out of the fridge) and necks well protected. i.e. Why the French neck is so enwrapped both winter and summer in my opinion.

THANKSGIVING Now that we've worked out what you should wear to TG dinner...

THANKSGIVING And what you should not.

THANKSGIVINGJust a reminder to eat your veggies...

THANKSGIVING And when dessert is served...

THANKSGIVING Think Limoge pill boxes and abstain if possible...

THANKSGIVING DO keep your pets off the host's furniture...

THANKSGIVING Put a bow in your hair and carry on.

THANKSGIVING BON(NNE) THANKSGIVING!

0 Thanksgiving Dos & Don'ts

We all worry what to wear to Thanksgiving din-din. Clearly going bottomless is not advisable. Going topless is not an option no matter what Paris Printemps thinks.
I would leave the jaguar shorts for another occasion peut-etre non?
Baring your new French lingerie is a bit showy you know.
What goes in Paris does not necessarily go in Omaha NE.
The same applies for deeply-off-the-shoulder looks at the Thanksgiving table.
Yet completement covered-up 'monestary' looks by Hussein Chalayan are also a no-go.
If you insist on wearing an edible chocolate dress, do bring a back up. You know how hungry guests get before dinner.
Ditto for edible chocolate shoes...
Do not presume your family will appreciate your new Parisien bedhead hairdo. Bring a comb!
Displaying new 'Mona Lisa' nailfiles a table to announce your recent Louvre gift shop visit is a no-no.
Leave all digital gadgets at home.
Don't even think of bringing them a table!
When the pumpkin pie is served DO NOT moan loudly,
'Where are the MACARONS?'
Not unless you don't want to be invited back next year which is an option worth considering in some familial situations, ahem
BONJOUR Thanksgiving Dos & Don'ts!

0 Versace cats at H&M

I wasn't online at 5 AM last Saturday to catch Versace's cats at H&M
I have enough cats to keep me busy at the moment...
But I did pass by later on to check out the scene...

I coveted that Versace box, but you can't buy just a box malheueusement...

I looked at the leftovers...

Thanksgiving leftovers seem more appealing...ahem

A swipe of the cats paw was apparent in the Paris Metro...

And Paris vitrines/windows...

Almost all faux cat like this set at Claudie Pierlot...

Dans la rue a touch of cat at the neck...

Witty Barbara Rihl uses cat patterns as the base of her bags...

And around the neck of her figures...

While down the street on rue Cambon, her husband, Pierre Herme also has clever cats on the brain...

In Paris cat and mouse live happily together (in ballerina shoe store windows..).

And on rue des Martyrs fat rats adorn fromageries like crazy...

BONJOUR CATS etc.!

0 Coutume Cafe

Coutume Cafe Cuppa Coutume Cafe Coffee, watercolor, 9" x 11"

Coutume Cafe On Monday, Paris photographer Carla Coulson posted where to get a decent cuppa of coffee. Though I'm always on the lookout for a decent cuppa hot chocolate, I thought I better show you brand new Coutume Cafe (opened just in March) PDQ.

Coutume Cafe Patisserie Raider Louise said we must go...

Coutume CafeLuckily we had a poster explaining what to look for whilst tasting...

Coutume Cafe Coutume Cafe is a new concept in decor (pared down) and the beans are roasted onsite by co-owner Master torréfacteur (best roaster) Antoine Netien.

Coutume Cafe Pick your beans...

Then head to the lab - front counter to watch US barista Kevin Ayers to make your cup to order...

Coutume Cafe The process is enthraling...

Coutume Cafe The results: prefection.

Coutume Cafe Bubble, bubble...

Co-owner Aussie Tom Clark is onsite and happy to answer all your coffee questions.

Coutume Cafe Cafe Coutume is in the 7th a quick sprint from Le Bon Marche on 47 rue de Babylon.

Oh why did I leave my petit pain au chocolats (pastries are from FAB Patisserie des Reves)? I'll have to go back soon.

BON WEEKEND!
